Utilizing Inner Tools: Allow your Soul Life to be Simple, and your Attention Single

(I wrote this to encourage beginning class students, but maybe useful for others ; )

Every single tool is very simple, this soul practice is not meant to be complicated.
Jesus said - when the eye is simple/single, the body is full of Light ; )

Let your spiritual practice be simple - let go of the intellect trying to give you the run-around.
The harder we believe life is or has to be, the harder we make it.
Let the life of your soul be simpler and simpler.

Let your attention be single - clear, easy, fun Focus is Key!
Do one thing at a time and then let it go - trusting it to BE.
Juggling is a great example of this, in juggling - no matter how many balls in the air - only catching one ball at a time, only throwing one ball at a time.

.
You will hear about and practice the basic soul tools thousand of times, as you go on in training - you will hear about them in dozens of different ways - but it is all the same - simple simple simple:
this stuff is a minute to learn and a lifetime to master - let it be easy and fun!!!!!

This practice is like spinning plates:

Grounding - you intend connection between your lower body and the center of the earth... (You can use an image if you'd like - a tree, a laserbeam, a river, a bungee cord...)
You may find, as you allow yourself: receive support from the earth, body feel safer, release what you are done-with... that’s it.
let that BE, let that plate spin
then

Center of Head - bring your attention behind your 3rd eye and way back to center - between your ears (and up a bit) relax...  (You can use a candle flame image if you want to)
You may find, as you allow yourself: you are more in charge of your system, your vision is enhanced, you have a more neutral (spiritual not body) perspective...
let that BE, let that plate spin
then

Say YES to blessings from the Universe (you can use a Sun or Waterfall image) receiving Cosmic Energy -  I start beginners with Golden light - allow the energy to flow through you and to the earth...
You may find, as you allow yourself: you fill up with YUM, what isn't yummy is washed away...
As you deepen in this practice, all vibrations/frequencies/colors/blessings are available to you, go to the buffet and choose what you want - all you can eat!!
let that BE, let that plate spin
then…

on and on, allowing support, presence, shift in your space

.
For those of you who are just learning the basic techniques, I have lots of audios, going into the basic tools from different perspectives - other ways of saying it - let me know if you want some for your own use - happy to share - whatever you need for your process…

.
But it is Most important that you Trust yourself spiritually!
For each tool, spiritually: you say so, or see so, or know so or intend so - spiritually, as a consciousness - trust that it is done.

Remember this is not an intellectual or emotional or in any way a material exercise - it is spiritual - it is ALL intention.
You set the plate spinning, and let it keep spinning as you go to something else.
Check it later - if it is winding-down - renew it and go on with your life…

Your brain wants to run the show, understand it all - that is fine.
But you are spiritually doing this, the brain can’t do it (but it can get in the way ; )

As you are utilizing Inner/Soul  Tools:
Allow your Soul Life to be Simple, and your Attention Single
- your life will never be the same!

Really BEing with the 'Other'

This podcast asks an important question,
which for me boils down to:
Can we stand-in love, compassion, empathy
AND
speak our truth?

I say a resounding yes!
Unfortunately this is not the default expereince in our culture.
I am fortunate to be part of a community that practices this way of being - empathy and truth
-we practice from the inside out.

I thought I would share a bit about this way of BEing, from my expereince.

It takes time for most of us to go from:

  • identifying with our beliefs,
  • having our ego tied to how we understand the world,
  • taking our thoughts and our feelings very Seriously...
to a place where we experience the world inside and outside of ourselves
  • from a more neutral place,
  • from a more playful/amused place
  • from a less-attached place...

.
It takes time for most of us to shift.
But I believe it is miraculous that we
Really Can shift!
HOW we practice this is too long to say here,
but I can share One distinction that May make sense as a stand-alone:

Everyone lives through Pictures - our experiences, views, hopes & fears, stories about reality.
In our practice, we utilize the word 'Pictures' to represent our beliefs about:

  • who we are,
  • what the world is,
  • what is essential in life,
  • how we should behave,
  • where it is important that we invest our attention and energy
  • what is the meaning of it all...

Our pictures are not reality.

We experience life through our pictures,
create a life congruent with our pictures,
resist shifting our pictures...
I believe part of the issue that trips most of us regarding Really BEing with the Other is:

  • we think our pictures are Real,
  • and important,
  • and necessary.

And they sure do seem to be!
So, when our pictures seem to contradict other's pictures
- we (understandably) believe that one or both of our pictures must be Wrong.

This is challenging, confronting to our little house of cards.
And it is tempting to protect our POV, our little world;
and attack theirs - or at least not Hear or BE with their's very well.

.
This is the opposite direction of love/compassion/empathy.
It is the opposite of understanding them and their POV.
It is opposite of BEing-with them. BEing with their Truth.

So, this is useful and powerful distinction, IMO;

  • If we want to be with what IS, and who they are / where they are.
  • If we want to Love them.
Then, it is useful to hold our POV loosely.

This is not easy.
But, it becomes less and less challenging as we more deeply grok:

  • pictures are just pictures,
  • they are not reality
  • and attaching to them and resisting them doesn't serve anyone, really. It just shores up our ego, our world-view, our POV.

.
And I don't mean just thinking this stuff about pictures is a good idea, or intellectually believing it, even.
This is a superficial first-step.
I mean practicing this consciousness about our pictures, standing in this place of freedom, internally - until it is realized within us.

.
So, I just shared a little peek at a different practice, that has one relate more openly and comfortably with folks of competing belief-systems.
Unsurprisingly, it has us go below the level of our beliefs, to what lies below.

Thanks for reading.
in life, Wendy
